Welcome Writers! And a Happy Creative Beginnings Month to everyone!
There is so much to celebrate this month, and not the
least of which is today, and here’s
why: Take a look around
our awesome group by clicking the links below and check out the extensive list
of writing tips and resources offered by the Insecure Writers Support Group,
founded by Alex
Cavanaugh, right here and right now on this first Wednesday of the
month, when IWSG
members convene through blogging, Facebook, and Twitter to
talk about whatever is on our writing minds and agendas. See what we’re all talking about here.
As
for me:
I successfully completed my third April A – Z Challenge! In
addition, I wrote four chapters for a memoir project, and two newsletters. Through
it all I asked myself only once if perhaps I’d overestimated my own
capabilities, and who’s going to care if I do or if I don’t? That’s when my
inner-voice whispered, “Be your own hero; it’s worth it.” So I did, and it was. ;-) It’s
been an exhilarating month!
On behalf of the young companions I’ve had since school
has been interrupted, tomorrow is Two Different Colored Shoes Day, and we hope you’ll all be inspired! I think I’ll
just Get Caught Reading a Mystery
;-)
Happy Springtime
Writing!
Hi, diedre!
ReplyDeleteYou of all people should never doubt your capabilities. Your writing never ceases to captivate me. You consistently deliver both style and substance. I can hardly believe you tackled a memoir project and two newsletters along with the A TO Z.
Congratulations on all your writing achievements, dear friend diedre, and enjoy the rest of your week!
Hi Shady!
DeleteComing from you, dear Maestro, I am honored by your compliments. Thank you ;-)
Your blog post is the first that I have visited today. Because of a pressing matter that had to settle for my resident permit, I am late in starting to visit the IWSG blogs today. BUT your the title of your post made my heart sing when I saw it and gave me so much encouragement. "Be Your Own Hero!" It takes a lot to get out there and validate yourself without waiting on someone else to validate you. You are doing that and it is a balm to my soul. Keep on being your own hero.

DeleteGood to see you! May we all be our own secret weapons for success ;-)
Well done - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBe your own hero. I like that.
Howdy Captain!
DeleteThank you, Sir ;-) Some accomplishments are sure worth shouting about.
Sounds like you had a busy month! I like the idea of being your own hero :-)
ReplyDeleteRonel visiting on Insecure Writer's Support Group day: Autumn Decisions
Hi Ronel!
DeleteYes, and the month flew by in a flurry of about 11 thousand words ;-) Whew!
Thanks for chiming in!
What a productive month you've had! I completed my first A to Z, but didn't get much more writing than those daily blogs accomplished. Love that--"Be your own hero." Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJQ Rose
Hi J Q Rose!
DeleteCongratulations! The A - Z Challenge is truly the best writing exercise I've ever encountered.
Thank you for coming by!
HiYa, dIEDRE ~
ReplyDeleteBe your own hero -- that is a really good motto.
Sometimes I'm my own fire-breathing dragon. Then I look around for the knight in armor who's coming to do the slaying. And seeing no one, I think: Oh, I guess that's me, TOO!
