If I
were a mobster I think I’d keep a lid on it – not be all
flashy like Dillinger, but real
sneaky - like the Mist.
The
Mist could slip into and out of the Doomsday Seed Vault leaving only a trace of
perfume the snoozing guards would think they dreamed of. Or, as in the heist at
Tonedeaf Mansion, the lingering smell of death.
That one had not gone as well as planned, but the Mist had, ah,
effectively nailed them –to the wall, with the incriminating documents still in
hand! Those who survived would have been sent to the Rockies, had they not gone
blithering idiot crazy. Lucky dogs, no one else has ever seen the Mist.
This Mobster blogfest is brought to you by the Mistress of
Suspense herself, Chrys Fey in honor
of the premier of her latest book: 30 Seconds Before!
30
SECONDS BEFORE BLURB:
Blake Herro is a cop in the Cleveland Police Force. Ever
since he was a child he wanted to do right by the city he loved by cleaning up
the streets and protecting its citizens. Red, a notorious mobster, has other
plans.
On a bitter December night, ten police officers are drawn
into a trap and killed by Red’s followers. Blake wants to bring down the Mob to
avenge his fallen brothers and to prevent other cops from being murdered.
Except the only way he can do that is by infiltrating the Mob.
Every minute he’s with these mobsters
he’s in danger. Around every corner lies the threat of coming face to face with
a gun. Will he make it out of the Mob alive or will he be their next victim?

Hi, dear Diedre!
ReplyDeletebigamist (definition): a fog in Italy. :)
That joke's as old as Shady.
It's great to see my Florida friend Disaster Chrys on your blog. Thanks for offering this tantalizing blurb summarizing her new prequel book 30 Seconds Before, destined to become a hit.
Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Diedre!
Hi Shady!
DeleteYour zeugma is impressive! Who else but the Mist could infiltrate a Camorra? This was a fun exercise, I truly had no idea when I started that it would lead to a brume ;-) Who would you be as a mobster, my friend?
Lady Chrys is always welcome here!
I can truthfully say her books are always entertaining and her marketing techniques never cease to amaze me;-)
Happy thoughts to you, dear Shady!
I'd be called Knight Stalker... and go around throwing shade on my enemies. :)
DeleteThat Mist sounds deadly. If you want to get away with a crime, being sneaky like the Mist is a must.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for participating in my Mobfest! :)
Hi, Shady! :)
Hi Chrys!
DeleteHa! Thanks for suggesting such a fun exercise ;-) No flamboyance for this kid, just shadows and mist!
Very best wishes, lady Chrys! Having read the first one, I just know this one will be terrific too;-)
Ooo--the Mist sounds scary. Makes me think of the Stephen King short story. Definitely a mobster to avoid!
ReplyDeleteHi Tamara!
DeleteAck! I loved Stephen King's Mist but it took awhile for me to go to the grocery store after a rain - ha!
I like the Mist idea, too. You'll elude the cops easy.
ReplyDeleteAs well as anyone else ;-) A shy mobster still has her weapons. Assuming, of course, that all mobsters need weapons.
DeleteCool profile. Unique. Love the little examples too.
ReplyDeleteJuneta @ Writer's Gambit
Hi Juneta!
DeleteThank you, this was such a fun exercise! Nothing like a little creativity for a terrific cause ;-)
Keeping silent, like the Mist, probably would keep you safer too. A great idea for a Mobster.
ReplyDeleteHi Beverly!
DeleteThanks! I don't usually think like a mobster, but it's the first thing that came to mind ;-)
Very elusive. Keeping quiet like the mist is the best idea. More mobsters would say off the feds radar if they kept a lower profile. I enjoyed your profile. Congrats to Chrys on her new book.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa!
DeleteI tend to agree, mobsters wouldn't have to be 'on the run' so much if they kept a lower profile. Glad you enjoyed!
The Mist sounds intriguing indeed; though I'm not sure I actually want to meet her :) I'm insane enough already.
ReplyDeleteHi Dolorah!
DeleteAw, she's not so bad when she's not on a mission ;-)
Hi Diedre - Chrys' 30 Seconds before ... does sound an interesting premise ...
ReplyDeleteBut your 'Mist' sounds a wee bit terrifying ... and a really great idea for a book ... cheers and good luck to you both - Hilary
Hi Hilary!
DeleteOnly a wee bit? Ha! True, this was a bit beyond my typical musings ;-)
But what a fun blogfest!
The mist makes people crazy - I like it.
ReplyDeleteHi there!
DeleteSure, folks get a little nervous when they don't know who or what is wreaking the havoc ;-) It seems my fondness for ghosts and the supernatural had some influence in this exercise.
Less likely to get caught, when you keep a low profile. ☺ This looks like a fun blog hop and the book sounds interesting, too. I'll be sure to check it out.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie!
DeleteI do agree! Oh this has been soo much fun!!
I read 30 Seconds and really enjoyed, so it's a safe bet the prequel will be just as good ;-)
Being sneaky is the way, will keep you free at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteTrue dat, Pat with cats! ;-)
DeleteOooh, a very spooky interpretation! Enjoy the rest of October!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie!
DeleteIf it is as productive as I've planned, I will greatly enjoy the rest of the month ;-)
Have a spooky-good Halloween!
Scary and spooky!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Heather
Thanks, Heather!
DeleteMy initial thought was to be entirely incognito, spooky slipped in by itself :-)
If I see The Mist coming, I'm running.
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
Hi Sherry!
DeleteWhat? And miss all the mayhem? ;-)
The Mist sounds like a Super Villain name. I suppose it would work well for a mobster also. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jeffrey!
DeleteIt does for this one ;-)
The woman in the mist! I love it. I will never take fog for granted again.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Crystal! Having just been to your post, I've decided to go out and get myself a red skirt ;-)
DeleteThe Mist sounds good. I would be a pretty lousy mobster. I'd get caught right away.
