Welcome readers, writers, authors, and bloggers!
We're glad you're here! It's the First Wednesday of the month,
when we celebrate IWSG Day in the form
of a blog hop featuring members and guests of the Insecure Writer's Support Group. Founded by
author Alex Cavanaugh (Thank you,
Captain!) and fostered by like-minded associates, IWSG is a comfortable place
to share views and literary news as we record our journeys. Check out our newsletter here
The awesome cohosts for this month’s postings are: Kalpana, Kim
Lajevardi, Rebecca
Douglass, Jennifer
Lane, and Cathrina
Constantine!
Today’s
entirely optional question:
November 4th question – As a writer, do you have
favorite themes that you like to explore in your stories? If so, what are they?
My stories typically
involve ordinary dilemmas with supernatural outcomes because sometimes it is
the only way to achieve the desired outcome. Since I write (or have written) for
every age group, audience maturity does dictate the subject matter as well as
the complexity of each story.
Seasons drape the carefree
playgrounds of stories I create for children, while irony nudges wizened minds into
glancing one more time.
To my mind, I’ve yet
to write a great mystery. Perhaps once I figure out the ones (mysteries; that
is) I have, I will get back on my game again and write one. For now, I shall impatiently
wait for the creative juices to flow again so that I might finish (at least)
one of the four WIPs I have going on by year’s end. I have already purchased a
pint of strawberry ice cream for this occasion!
What are you working
on?
Happy Thanksgiving!
